  1. International Skilled Worker

This program is designed for skilled foreign workers whose skills and experience can address Saskatchewan’s labor market needs and contribute to the province’s economic and social growth with permanent residency.

Streams in this Program:

  1. Saskatchewan Express Entry: For skilled workers registered in the IRCC Express Entry system who intend to reside permanently in Saskatchewan.

Requirements:

    • Valid Express Entry profile with IRCC
    • Minimum score of 60 points on the SINP assessment grid
    • Language proficiency as per requirements
    • At least one year of post-secondary education related to the occupation (foreign credentials require an Educational Credential Assessment – ECA)
    • Relevant work experience (minimum one year for skilled professionals, two years for technical trades, or one year in Canada for the Canadian Experience Class)
    • Proof of settlement funds and a settlement plan
    • Eligibility for professional licensure if required
  1. Occupation In-Demand: For skilled workers with expertise in occupations in demand in Saskatchewan but without a job offer.

Requirements:

    • Minimum score of 60 points on the SINP assessment grid
    • Minimum language proficiency of CLB 4 (higher for some occupations)
    • Post-secondary education or training recognized in Canada (foreign credentials require an ECA)
    • At least one year of full-time work experience in an occupation at NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3
    • Proof of settlement funds and a settlement plan

  1. Employment Offer: For skilled workers with a valid job offer from an employer in Saskatchewan.

Requirements:

    • Eligibility for professional licensure if required (e.g., nursing or medical professions)
    • Residency in Saskatchewan for temporary work permit holders

Additional Requirements for Express Entry Stream:

    • Valid IRCC Express Entry profile with a job seeker code
    • Minimum language proficiency of CLB 7

Additional Requirements for Non-Express Entry Stream:

    • Minimum language proficiency of CLB 5 (higher if required by the employer)

Eligible Occupations: Physicians, nurses, pharmacists, psychologists, physiotherapists, medical technicians, nurse aides, and home support workers (excluding live-in caregivers).

  1. Tech Talent Pathway: A program for highly skilled professionals in the technology and innovation sectors with a permanent job offer, offering permanent residency through Express Entry and non-Express Entry streams.

Common Requirements:

    • Permanent, full-time job offer in the technology or innovation sector from an approved employer
    • Work experience: at least six months with the supporting employer or one year of relevant experience in the past five years
    • Post-secondary education related to the occupation (master’s degree, bachelor’s degree, or two-year diploma)
    • Eligibility for professional licensure if required (e.g., a letter from APEGS for computer, software, electrical, or electronics engineers)
    • Residency in Saskatchewan for temporary work permit holders

Additional Requirements for Express Entry Stream:

    • Valid IRCC Express Entry profile with a job seeker code
    • Language test results meeting requirements (typically CLB 7 or higher)

Additional Requirements for Non-Express Entry Stream:

    • Language proficiency: employer assessment (if working with the supporting employer) or minimum CLB 5 (if not currently employed)

Eligible Occupations: Information systems managers, electrical, computer, and software engineers, data scientists, cybersecurity specialists, software and web developers, network and support technicians.

  1. Worker with Saskatchewan Work Experience

This program is designed for individuals currently working in Saskatchewan or with work experience in the province, seeking permanent residency.

Streams in this Program:

  1. Skilled Worker with Existing Work Permit: For skilled workers employed in Saskatchewan with a valid work permit.

Requirements:

    • Permanent, full-time job offer in occupations at NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, 3, or specific occupations (TEER 4 and 5 in limited cases)
    • Valid work permit
    • At least six months of continuous work experience with the supporting employer
    • Minimum language proficiency of CLB 4 for TEER 4 or 5 occupations

    • Valid Class 1A driver’s license
  1. Students: For international students who have studied in Saskatchewan and are now working in the province.

Requirements:

    • Graduation from a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Saskatchewan with a certificate, diploma, or degree
    • Valid Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) or CUAET permit
    • At least six months of relevant work experience (on-campus, off-campus, co-op, or post-graduation)
    • Permanent, full-time job offer in NOC TEER 0, 1, 2, 3 occupations related to the field of study (or TEER 4 and 5 in specific cases)
    • Minimum language proficiency of CLB 4 for TEER 4 or 5 occupations
    • Residency in Saskatchewan during studies and work experience

 

  1. Entrepreneur

This program is designed for individuals who wish to start, purchase, or manage a business in Saskatchewan and reside permanently in the province.

Program Suspension: As of March 27, 2025, no new applications will be accepted, but existing applications will be processed.

Streams in this Program:

  1. Entrepreneur: For individuals who want to start, purchase, or manage a business in Saskatchewan and actively participate in its operations.

Requirements:

    • Minimum net worth of CAD 500,000 (legally acquired)
    • At least three years of business management or entrepreneurial experience in the past 10 years
    • Minimum investment of CAD 300,000 in Regina or Saskatoon, or CAD 200,000 in other Saskatchewan regions
    • Ownership of at least one-third of the business (or investment exceeding CAD 1 million)
    • Active and ongoing management of the business
    • Creation of at least two jobs for Canadian citizens or permanent residents (for new businesses in Regina and Saskatoon)
  1. International Graduate Entrepreneur: For international students who have graduated from Saskatchewan institutions and wish to start a business in the province.

Requirements:

    • Minimum age of 21
    • Completion of a minimum two-year degree or diploma from an eligible Saskatchewan institution
    • Valid PGWP with at least 24 months of remaining validity
    • Residency in Saskatchewan during the study period (online or intensive studies are not eligible)
    • Minimum language proficiency of CLB 7
    • Ownership of at least one-third of the business and active management
    • At least one year of business operation with specified revenue before applying for nomination
    • Signing a Business Performance Agreement (BPA)

  1. Farm Owner and Operator

This program is designed for individuals with farming experience who wish to purchase and manage a farm in Saskatchewan.

Program Suspension: As of March 27, 2025, no new applications will be accepted, but existing applications will be processed.

Streams in this Program:

  1. Farm Owner and Operator: For experienced farmers who want to establish or manage a farm in Saskatchewan, focusing on primary agricultural production such as crops and livestock.

Requirements:

    • Minimum net worth of CAD 500,000
    • At least three years of experience in farm ownership, farm management, or practical farming
    • Proposed investment of at least CAD 150,000 in a commercial farming operation with a minimum annual revenue of CAD 10,000 (hobby farms are not eligible)
    • Good faith deposit of CAD 75,000 (refundable upon meeting conditions)
    • Minimum five-day exploratory visit to Saskatchewan
    • Minimum score of 55 points on the SINP assessment grid
    • Genuine intent to reside permanently in Saskatchewan
  1. Young Farmer Stream: For young farming families who wish to establish a farm in rural Saskatchewan.

Requirements:

    • Minimum net worth of CAD 300,000 (legally acquired)
    • Age under 40
    • At least three years of experience in farm ownership, farm management, or practical farming
    • Proposed commercial farming operation with a minimum annual revenue of CAD 10,000 (hobby farms are not eligible)
    • Marketable employment skills (applicant or spouse) to supplement farm income
  1. Accompanying Farm Employee: For farm employees applying for permanent residency alongside the primary applicant in the farm category.

Requirements:

    • Residing outside Canada or having legal status in Canada (not a refugee claimant)
    • Nomination of the primary farm category applicant by SINP
    • At least one year of work experience in the past 10 years as a farm employee with the primary applicant
    • Minimum language proficiency of CLB 4
    • Minimum score of 60 points on the SINP assessment grid

Key Notes:

  • Applicants in all streams must demonstrate intent to reside permanently in Saskatchewan.
  • Refugee claimants in Canada are not eligible for any SINP programs.
  • Providing false or misleading information in any stream is prohibited and may result in a ban of up to five years.
  • All documents must be submitted in English or French, with certified translations if required.
  • Settlement services, such as language training, housing advice, and cultural orientation, are available to all applicants to support their integration.
