The Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) is an economic immigration program designed for skilled workers, professionals, and entrepreneurs who wish to obtain permanent residency, work, and live in Yukon. Under the Yukon Community Pilot (YCP) program, if you have a valid nomination for permanent residency from Yukon, you may be eligible for an employer-specific open work permit for two years under this initiative.

The Yukon Community Pilot Program offers several immigration pathways for applicants:

- At least one year of relevant work experience.
- Proof of language proficiency according to the job requirements.

- Yukon Critical Impact Worker Program

- At least six months of relevant work experience.
- Language proficiency with a minimum score of CLB 4 for English or a minimum score of 3 in French.
- Yukon Express Entry Program
This program is a subsection of the federal Express Entry system and is designed for individuals eligible under one of the three federal economic immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)
- Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Requirements:
- An active profile in the Express Entry system.
- A permanent, full-time job offer from an eligible employer in Yukon.
- Proof of sufficient funds.
- A minimum language score of CLB 7 for TEER 0 and 1 occupations.
Advantage: This program can increase your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score by up to 600 points, improving your chances of receiving an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency.
- Yukon Business Nominee Program (YBNP)
This program is for entrepreneurs who can manage and invest in a business in Yukon.
General Requirements:
- A minimum of 65 points in the evaluation system.
- IELTS 6 for English or level 4 in the TEF French test.
- Three years of business management experience and five years of relevant work experience.
- A minimum net worth of CAD 500,000 and liquid assets of at least CAD 300,000.
- A commitment to invest at least CAD 300,000 in the business within the first two years.
- Yukon Community Pilot (YCP)
This special pilot program addresses specific labor market needs in Yukon’s designated communities. Applicants can obtain an open work permit valid for two years, allowing them to work for up to three employers in participating communities.
Key Requirements:
- Having 2 or 3 non-seasonal job offers with a combined minimum of 30 hours per week.
- A letter of support from the Government of Yukon.

Application Processing Time: The (YNP) processing time is typically 8 to 14 weeks. Applicants under the Express Entry stream may receive their permanent residency within six months.

- Necessary Licenses: Employers must hold valid federal, provincial, and municipal licenses.
Employer Responsibilities:
- Compliance with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) regulations and Yukon labor and human rights laws.
- Employers cannot deduct recruitment or health insurance costs from employees’ wages.
- Employers must assist employees in finding suitable housing if requested.
- Free health insurance must be provided until the employee becomes eligible for Yukon health coverage.
Application Steps for Employers
- Job Advertisement: Employers must advertise the position for at least four weeks before submitting an application, proving no available Canadian worker.
- Submit Application: The employer submits a complete application to (YNP).
- Application Review: (YNP) evaluates the application and, if approved, the worker can apply for a work permit.
Application Steps for Applicants for Yukon PNP
Work Permit Application: Applications for a work permit must be submitted online, and paper applications are not accepted.
- Finding a Job Offer: Applicants must find job opportunities in Yukon on their own, as (YNP) does not assist in recruitment.
- Submit the Application: Once a job offer is received, submit the application along with the required documents to (YNP).
- Employer and Application Evaluation: (YNP) reviews the application to assess the eligibility of both the employer and the applicant.
- Interview and Site Visit: Applicants may be invited to Yukon for an interview and business proposal review.
- Work Permit: If approved, a 2-year work permit is issued for starting the business.
- Permanent Residency: Upon receiving a nomination, the applicant can apply for permanent residency through (IRCC).
