Home care worker immigration pilots (HCWIP)<\/h2>\n

Childcare or home support worker<\/strong><\/p>\n

2 streams: in-canada workers \/ applicants not working in Canada<\/p>\n

Each stream may open multiple times in a different date at the IRCC discretion.<\/p>\n

Who can apply<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Plan to live anywhere in Canada except for Quebec province<\/li>\n
  2. Already live in Canada (can be physically outside at the time of submission eg vacation. But your primary residency must be in canada)<\/li>\n
  3. Authorized to work full-time in Canada through\n
      \n
    • Valid work permit (excluding study permit holders)<\/li>\n
    • Maintained status<\/li>\n
    • Public policies<\/li>\n
    • NOT count: study permit holder \/ biz viz<\/li>\n
    • Out of status & unauthorized workers all the following met:\n
        \n
      • Residence in Canada when applying<\/li>\n
      • Entered Canada legally on or before dec 16, 2021 and lived here continuously<\/li>\n
      • Had a work permit at some point during that period<\/li>\n
      • Not inadmissible to Canada for reasons other than, overstaying, working\/studying without authorization for yourself or an accompanying family<\/li>\n
      • Not made a refugee claim<\/li>\n
      • Not under a removal order<\/li>\n
      • Not in Canada on a study permit.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
          \n
        1. Min language level (clb\/nclc) of 4 for all skills either English or French\n
            \n
          • English: celpip general\/ ielts general, pte core<\/li>\n
          • French: tef Canada, tcf Canada<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
          • Min education Canadian high school\n
              \n
            • ECA for non-canadian education high school or any other higher formal education<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
            • XP or training\n
                \n
              • At least 18 when gained<\/li>\n
              • NOC for meeting<\/u> the education or experience\n
                  \n
                • Childcare\n
                    \n
                  • Home childcare provider (NOC44100)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

                    Foster parent excluded<\/em><\/p>\n

                      \n
                    • Early childhood assistants (NOC42202)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                      Educator, day care teacher, supervisor excluded<\/em><\/p>\n

                      • Home support\n
                          \n
                        • Home support workers\/caregivers (NOC44101)<\/li>\n
                        • Nurse aides, orderlies and patient service associates (NOC 33102)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                        • One of the following (recent & relevant)\n
                            \n
                          • Work experience within 3 years prior to submission\n
                              \n
                            • Min 6 months experience continues<\/u> full-time (in-or-out of canada)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                              You can have two part-time jobs provided that the combination adds up to at least 30 hours threshold for 6 months. Like 2 15h\/w simultaneous jobs for 180 days.<\/p>\n

                              • Min xp must be in 1 or combination of both nocs of the same pilot<\/li>\n
                              • Not gained while studying full-time or self-employed<\/li>\n
                              • Long-term sickness and parental leave excluded<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                • Training credential within 2 years prior to submission\n
                                    \n
                                  • At least 17 when started the education<\/li>\n
                                  • Be targeted towards the selected NOCs considering the exclusions<\/li>\n
                                  • Can be a mix of occupations within each pilot (like HCP\/ECA)<\/li>\n
                                  • Min 6 months in duration Post-secondary level<\/li>\n
                                  • Full-time min 15 hours per week<\/li>\n
                                  • Offered mainly in an in-person classroom environment<\/li>\n
                                  • If obtained a non-Canadian credential ECA not required, unless using this particular program to meet education requirement.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                                  • Job offer\n

                                    • Offer\n
                                        \n
                                      • Full-time & permanent<\/li>\n
                                      • Home childcare provider (NOC44100) or Home care worker (NOC44101)<\/li>\n
                                      • WAGE: meet or exceed median wage for the location or if unavailable national<\/li>\n
                                      • LOCATION: institutional settings daycare & nursing homes excluded<\/li>\n
                                      • Employee-based on payroll<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n
                                      • EMPLOYER:\n
                                          \n
                                        • TYPE: Business \/ non-profit or Private household<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                                          If biz, must be providing same type of care at least 1y prior to making the offer<\/p>\n

                                          • Must have complete responsibility for payment\/setting work condition\/hiring<\/li>\n
                                          • Must have CRA business number to hire an employee<\/li>\n
                                          • Cannot be spouse, parent, child, grandparent<\/li>\n
                                          • Must complete employer form<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
