Visa vs Permit

⭕️ Note that “Visa” is your permission to enter Canada and “Permit” is your permission to stay in Canada for the purpose of study or work.
⭕️ In fact, you cannot study or work in Canada just by having a visa, and you cannot enter Canada by just having a permit.
⭕️ The expiration dates of these two documents are not necessarily related to each other. But what is certain is that both will be based on the validity date of your passport. That is, if your study period is 3 years and you have 2 years left on your passport, you will be issued a two-year visa and permit.

🔴🟣🔴 So, one of the important points to consider before any action is the validity date of the passport. Be sure to check that it is valid for at least 2 years.
🔴🟣🔴 Of course, if the period of the issued permit is shorter than your study period, it can be easily extended again.

✅ But some important points:

1- If you are studying in Canada and have no plans to leave Canada, you do not need to renew your expired visa.
2- If you decide to leave Canada for some reason and your visa has expired, be sure to apply for an extension 3 months before your trip.
3- To renew your study or work visa from within Canada, your permit must be valid. Pay attention to its date.
4- If your permit is about to expire and there is still time left for your studies, apply for an extension at least 3 months before the expiration of the permit. Note that any action for a permit requires the payment of a government fee.
5- If there are even a few days left until the end of your visa, you can legally enter Canada. Of course, note that if you are a visitor, the immigration officer has the right to set a specific date for you to leave Canada, and you must leave Canada before that date.
6- If you enter Canada with a visitor visa and the border officer does not consider a specific date for your departure, you can stay in Canada for 6 months without any problems. In fact, you do not need a visa to stay.
7- Be sure to pay attention to the date of the permit. Sometimes, it has been seen that students have encountered many problems due to not paying attention to the permit renewal date.
8- If you were not careful and your permit was revoked, you should immediately proceed to extend the permit plus restoration. In this regard, there is a complete podcast on the Telegram channel and Instagram page.
9- If you are entering Canada as a visitor, be sure to apply for a study or work visa before the end of your 6-month stay in Canada. Otherwise, you will face many problems.
10- Finally, visa and permit are two very important documents, each of which has its own application. Be careful in maintaining them and always be aware of their expiration date.
